Definitely: I travelled  around the globe, visited over 85 countries, until I was 50, (1991), in better times than now.

Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

Comes to mind:

The melancholy musical Porgy and Bess: ….summertime & the living was easy….

Or: those were the days when that was easy, fun, relaxed, and interesting.

No crowds, like we know now.

Walking through Venice in summer and hardly a foreigner in sight… imagine it now.

Anyway,  the very best gift ever, although all my travelling was 90% business/work for which I got (well) paid, flew business class, stayed in 5 star hotels, and received an ample daily substance allowance.

And of course the opportunity to visit a country’s historical sites, scenery, museums, a show, musical, classical concert (London, NYC, Vienna, Beijing) taste the best, most authentic local cuisines and take home 🏡 local specialities no-one could buy in my own home-country without any issues getting them through customs upon arrival by plane, boat, train, or car.

Gone forever,😭 and those under/over 40 now: I am truly 😞 sorry 😞 you shall  never know that bygone way of life.

🙏
