MAY, always was, always will be.

A lovely spring month anyway, but for me personally: most special.

Why?

Read below

As a Dutch woman, born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands: as a kid after World War 2:

5th May: Liberation Day, after a 5 year GERMAN-Hitler-Nazi occupation The Netherlands: I can assure everyone who is NOT DUTCH, one only has that feeling when one was born Dutch, and people my age, born in WW2:

Well, that feeling of GRATITUDE 🙏 having your freedom & your own country!!! back: is unique!!

My first tomcat BORIS was born 5th May, 1997, he was my best friend for 17 years, till he passed away.

I remember him each year too, with gratitude, and sentimental feelings: 5th May.

A FREE from school day. I as a kid.

5th May.

Free from school too:

1st May: Labour day in The Netherlands.

Then: in those days: The Queen’s Birthday: (30th April) FREE from school day too.

So: for me: May stays the most, best, special month of the year.!

A month of celebrations and mostly good, happy memories: 🍾 ✨️ 💕 it always was, and will be.

Besides: it is SPRINGTIME. With lots of fresh spring flowers, and back in the day: FRESH NEW DUTCH HERRING!!! Always in MAY: Yummie.

And FRESH asperges, and fresh grass fed butter and milk. Always May. Yummie.

And always Ascension Day (a free national holiday in The Netherlands) with 10 days later to forward to: White Sunday & Whit Monday.

I was born 7th May, therefore I look back on my days as a kid: MAY is definitely a month of lots and lots of fun, celebrations, and nice spring weather.

Note: I appreciate every month, also the 4 seasons however MAY IS MY FAVOURITE MONTH.

Sincerely,
