They usually are great company, I mean: cats and/or dogs 🐕

For a kid: great to have a pet. Can be a hamster or tiny similar type of pet, or a goldfish 🐠

Some kids growing up rurally, with and used to chickens, goats, sheep, a cow to milk, like where I am a resident (Turkey) still love to have a domesticated pet they can cuddle.

It is just nice to have a pet. When one is old, lives alone too: pets are good to have around.
