Yes, I do: ‘A healthy brain & a healthy body’

Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Note: NOT my invention that credo ie as old as the LATIN language, I presume.

In Latin: MENS SANA e CORPERE SANO.

My father taught me that as a kid: training me ‘AD NAUSEAM’ to:

behave, be polite, speak and address people properly & be articulate, eat, chew properly (with a fork and knife), sit straight (when you sit i.e. do not hang in your chair😁😩), do not eat in front of a TV.

When you stand: stand straight, (adding: I gave you 2 good feet). Do not read in bed. You must wear the best shoes available – ie the feet need proper support +++.

A list I automatically adhered to as a kid, a young adult still living under his roof. So it sort of got drilled into me, or I got programmed that way. 🙏🤷‍♂️

I as a kid obeyed. My father always EXPLAINED (never lectured nor bullied, nor hit/spanked us kids) why he considered such good for: the physical body, muscles, skeleton. Aha, oh, okay Dad, makes sense, me nodding that I got it.

The thing is: when your parent/caretaker is like that: educating you about such BASICS, that make sense of course: you have no problem accepting it.

MENS SANA e CORPERE SANO, he added: this all has to do with Mens Sana`e Corpore Sano. Okay Dad, what does that mean, please?? Oh, aha: that means: a healthy brain in a healthy body (in Dutch, my mother-tongue).

Anyway: because of that: 😅🙈 my credo too: is and stays: MENS SANA e CORPORE SANO.

========================================================

That was seven decades back.

Meanwhile as an adult: of course I learned a bit more, studying comprehensive alternative holistic medicine & nutrients:

Like:  What one can do to stay fit, healthy, and sane! Work for life: 🥰. My father’s credo was not wasted on me.
