Making plans: to travel, go places – 2024 >>>>

The Greek Island IKARIA is one of those few famous BLUE ZONES

5th January, 2024. So this place caught my attention, me interested in LONGEVITY. Even to relocate to.

It is do-able to visit it from where I live in Southern Turkey, by road and ferries. For me by (commercial) plane-services: absolutely hopeless. It would be quicker (from here) to fly: Dalaman-Istanbul-NYC/USA.

Note: these days: I only travel when I have to, no longer keen on holidaying either.

Which comes *with age*, I am sure.

AND!! because I have been *everywhere* (visited over 85 countries, before I turned 50, and then moved to Southern Turkey.

So: visiting IKARIA, for me: would NOT be a holiday, but a *scouting* trip, no longer than max 1 week (incl.the travelling), to SEE whether I like it, can find an affordable *long-term rental* + where PETS are allowed.

Okay… it is a plan: on my TO DO LIST – 2024!!!

Probably early summer, and THAT: because in this part of the world: PUBLIC travelling & connections are better, more frequent, ie: wintertime, the off-season NO TOURISTS months: people go in (unnatural) long-sleep mode: November-April.

!!!!Ghastly if you are NOT like that, living in such a touristic area!!!!

Bottomline: if I had my own plane or chopper: it would only be a hop from my home to Ikaria. Tack tack, now, get it done and on to the next moves.

And that actually is the most irritating issue!!! 🤣🤑 (not rich enough to have that comfortable luxury to quickly go somewhere, and dependent on public services with summer/winter schedules) and living in such a touristic area👹😡.

Anyway: the plan is there.

And: I am *rich enough* to be able to afford the trip: paying in CASH €€€’s, or by debit/credit cards, (with plenty of breathing space).

I am also fit, healthy, experienced enough to travel, to deal with whatever, and make my own judgments/decisions. 🥰🤗🤑
